Believe it or not, I wasn’t always a realtor. We all start somewhere, right? So, before taking the plunge into my current line of work, I spent years working in academia.
This means that if you rewound 15 years, you would find me applying for a job at Inver Hills Community College.
After several interviews, I earned the role of Associate Director of Student Life. It was under a department I had no experience working in, which was both exciting and terrifying.
Luckily, I had the privilege of being supervised by a man named Brent Glass. He’s since been promoted to one of the top roles in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System — and it’s no surprise. Brent is awesome.
In the time we spent working together, he taught me so much. He was truly a mentor to me, someone I could go to with my questions and concerns, frustrations and joys. It was impossible to shake Brent; he was a rock for everyone in his sphere of influence.
So, when he asked if I could list his home in Prescott, I was more than happy to oblige. I can never pay him back for the years of conversation, learning, and laughter, but sell his house? That I could do.
Brent and his wife Jen did an outstanding job of preparing their home for showings. They cleaned, organized, made necessary repairs, and really loved the place. This allowed us to get multiple offers — with the terms they were looking for — within the first week it was on the market.
Selling houses doesn’t always go like this, but I’m grateful it went so smoothly for my mentor.
Brent and Jen, congratulations on your new home and family adventures! It was an honor to help you and your family take this step.
